On the doctor's suggestion, we began Natalia on solid foods last week. She was more than ready-she has been eyeing us whenever we are eating or drinking something. Despite the fact that we had heard we could expect that she would probably spit out what we gave, she has not done so. On the contrary, she eagerly slurps down the food she is given.
Saturday, April 19th was Natalia's first volunteer opportunity. She slept for almost the entire event. Towards the end she woke up, said hello to everyone. Later, as she considered a life of service, she again felt weary.
Natalia had a lot of fun hanging out with Luis, Channell, Donovon, and Titi Stella and Tio Fidel. Natalia is starting to marvel more and more at the things her cousins can do-like stand up, walk around, and dance. Maybe that is why she is starting to show some signs of wanting to start crawling??
Natalia took her first plane flight (out of the womb, that is) to Phoenix. The trip out went very smoothly-only a little crying in the car after arrival in Phoenix. Natalia had a great time with Tia Gloria, Tio Amado, and her cousin Melinda. There was so much social time she sometimes had trouble calming down, but she had a great time. Her eyes were constantly busy, seeing all kinds of new things, including a swimming pool, actual warm sunshine, a pack of little dogs, and all kinds of kids. She was constantly smiling being passed around-only crying when she had to go to bed.
Now Natalia is one year old. Just a few weeks ago she started walking and now she is looking like a pro, navigating over piles of books and toys with the best of us.
